Job Description

The Construction Manager is responsible for leading all projects during the active construction phase through final completion, turnover, and closeout. This role serves as the primary field and execution authority, ensuring that all projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with design intent, brand standards, and quality expectations.This position operates as the direct counterpart to the Preconstruction Manager and assumes full ownership of projects once they transition from design and pricing into construction execution. The Construction Manager is accountable for contractor performance, site coordination, schedule enforcement, and issue resolution across multiple active projects within higher education and private education food service environments.This is a high-level position, fast-paced, and requires a high level of skill and organization. Only highly qualified individuals with proficient experience will be considered.Compensation:$85,000 - $120,000 yearlyResponsibilities:Project Execution & OversightAssume full ownership of projects at turnover from PreconstructionManage all phases from mobilization through substantial completion and final closeoutEnsure alignment with contract documents, drawings, and specificationsMaintain and enforce project schedules, identifying and mitigating delaysEnforce strict quality control across all trades and installationsContractor & Vendor ManagementServe as the primary point of contact for General Contractors and subcontractorsLead weekly OAC meetings with clear documentationHold contractors accountable for schedule, manpower, sequencing, and workmanshipReview contractor schedules and validate feasibilityCoordinate procurement and installation of FFE and specialty itemsSite Coordination & Field LeadershipConduct regular site visits and field inspectionsIdentify and resolve field conflicts and constructability issues in real timeEnsure compliance with safety standards and site logisticsCoordinate phasing for projects in active facilitiesSubmittals, RFIs, and Change ManagementManage the submittal process during constructionEnsure timely review and return of submittalsOversee the RFI process and ensure clarity and completenessEvaluate and validate change ordersMaintain full change tracking logsBudget & Cost ControlTrack costs against approved budgetsReview and validate contractor pay applicationsIdentify cost risks and mitigate proactivelyCoordinate cost impacts with the Preconstruction ManagerProject Closeout & TurnoverLead the punchlist process through completionEnsure all closeout documents are received (OM manuals, warranties, as-builts)Coordinate inspections and approvalsOversee turnover to the client and stakeholdersQualifications:7–10+ years commercial construction management experienceStrong experience with interior renovations and active environmentsFood service or institutional experience preferredDeep understanding of construction documents and coordinationStrong knowledge of submittals, RFIs, and change ordersProficiency in project management softwareExcellent communication and leadership skillsCore CompetenciesSchedule Management and Recovery PlanningField Coordination and Conflict ResolutionContractor AccountabilityQuality Control and Detail OrientationBudget OversightDecision-Making Under PressureSuccess MetricsProjects delivered on schedule and within budgetMinimal change order exposureHigh-quality installations aligned with design intentTimely submittal and RFI processingComplete and clean closeoutsAbout CompanySCOPOS Hospitality Group is a premier hospitality consulting firm that values innovation, creativity, and excellence.
