Mission Health, based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a Vascular Access Registered Nurse to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this specialized role, you will provide expert vascular access services, including assessment, insertion, care, and maintenance of peripheral IVs, midlines, and central venous access devices for patients across a variety of inpatient units. Working in close collaboration with physicians, advanced practice providers, bedside nurses, and the broader care team, you will ensure that each patient receives safe, timely, and evidence-based vascular access tailored to their individual clinical needs. The Vascular Access Registered Nurse will independently assess vascular access requirements, review patient history and current condition, select appropriate devices, and utilize ultrasound guidance and sterile techniques to perform insertions in accordance with Mission Health policies and current standards of practice. You will monitor and manage vascular access sites, troubleshoot complications such as occlusions or infiltrations, and initiate interventions or escalate care when necessary. Patient and family education is a key component of this role, including instruction on device care, infection prevention, and what to expect during and after procedures. As part of Mission Health’s collaborative and patient-centered culture, you will actively participate in interdisciplinary rounds, contribute to care planning, and serve as a clinical resource and mentor to bedside nurses and other team members on vascular access best practices. You will support quality improvement initiatives by tracking outcomes, adhering to infection prevention protocols, and helping implement strategies to reduce catheter-related complications. Documentation of all assessments, procedures, and patient responses in the electronic health record must be accurate, timely, and compliant with regulatory and organizational standards. Mission Health fosters a collaborative environment emphasizing teamwork, respect, and professional growth. In this role, you will have opportunities to expand your clinical expertise through ongoing education, skills training, and participation in vascular access and infusion-related committees or projects. The current opportunity includes a full-time Registered Nurse position focused on delivering exceptional, compassionate care in a high-acuity, fast-paced hospital environment with clear pathways for professional advancement. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, patient-focused RN with strong IV and central line skills, excellent communication, and a passion for improving patient outcomes through safe and effective vascular access practices.
