Overview: The Podiatrist collaborates with a team of healthcare professionals and support personnel to deliver podiatric services to individuals of all ages, adhering to the defined scope of practice. This role involves providing diagnostic and therapeutic care to patients at our health center, while formulating sound medical evaluations and treatment strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive physical examinations
• Formulate differential diagnoses
• Request laboratory tests and imaging studies as needed
• Prescribe medications and make referrals when necessary
• Perform office-based podiatric procedures, including but not limited to: nail trimming, nail extraction, orthotic casting, foot injections, aspiration, and removal of minor foot lesions
• Administer and prescribe appropriate treatments
• Encourage healthy living by advising patients on nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention
• Accurately document patient information in a timely manner according to established protocols
• Effectively manage follow-up care for ongoing issues
• Engage in internal quality improvement initiatives and collaborate with team members to drive enhancement projects as needed

Qualifications:

To excel in this position, candidates must successfully fulfill each essential duty. The following qualifications represent the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this role.

Education and Experience:

• Graduation from an accredited Podiatry program
• Completion of an accredited Podiatric residency program is preferred

Licenses and Certifications:

• Board Certified DPM with a current, valid California License in good standing and DEA registration
• Must meet the credentialing and privileging standards set by our organization

Language Proficiency:

Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to inquiries from patients, colleagues, and others as required. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken, is preferred.

Mathematical Skills:

Capability to perform basic arithmetic operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Skills:

Ability to identify problems, gather relevant data, and establish factual conclusions.

Computer Proficiency:

High level of computer literacy, with proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook), electronic medical records, and web-based applications.
