Busy General Practice Firm in Essex County/ Newark is actively seeking an experienced Civil Litigation, Personal Injury,  Immigration, and  Criminal Defense Attorney to join our growing law practice.

Job Type: Full-time 8 am to 5 pm (8-hour shift). Weekends may be required, especially at the beginning of employment. 

Experience: legal practice: 5-10 years (Required)

License/Certification: NJ Bar (NJ Required; NY Bar is a plus)

Skills and Qualifications:

• Admission to the New Jersey Bar in good standing with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Civil Litigation, Personal Injury, Immigration, and Criminal Defense
• Ability to handle a high caseload
• Detail-oriented, organized, and quick
• Bilingual in Spanish is preferred; Portuguese is a plus 
• Experience with Immigration, Criminal, Landlord/Tenant, Personal Injury, Workmen's Compensation,  Family Law (divorce, child support, custody, TRO, etc.), Real Estate, Wills and Trusts, Municipal, and other areas of law
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent public speaking skills
• Ability to work cases either independently or as part of a team, to develop case strategies
• MUST have a driver's license and be computer literate.

Attorneys' Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide Representation at Civil/Criminal Hearings/Immigration
• Conduct interviews, depositions, and trials
• Drafting and submitting motions, complaints, answers, forms, and briefs in addition to other court/client correspondence
• Conducting complex legal research and case-specific analysis

Salary: Six-figure salary

Pay: Starting at (around) $110,000.00 per year, depending on experience.

• Paid time off- 10 Holiday Pay, 2 personal/ 3 sick/ one week of vacation after one year, which will increase every year up to 1 month in 5 years.
