Position Description Opportunity Finance Network (OFN) seeks law student applicants for a summer intern program. The Law Clerk/Legal Intern will assist the EVP‑General Counsel and SVP‑Deputy General Counsel by conducting legal research, reviewing documents, assisting with due diligence and negotiation of financial transactions, and writing memoranda on non‑profit law, federal regulations, and court decisions. The internship lasts 6‑8 weeks during the summer term (between May 25th and August 14th) and is part‑time, 25‑35 hours weekly, with consideration for 4‑week internships. OFN is a leading investment intermediary and network for CDFIs serving rural, urban, and Native communities across the United States. Core Responsibilities Conduct in‑depth legal research on non‑profit law, federal regulations, and court decisions. Summarize and analyze non‑profit law (formation, governance), federal regulations (agency rules), and court decisions (case analysis) and provide timely updates to the team. Assist with due diligence of funders and borrowers; learn about capital sources for nonprofits and lending activity; draft and review credit agreements, grant agreements, and other financial transactions. Prepare briefing materials, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. Assist in the organization of meetings, events, and legal briefings. Qualifications Currently enrolled in law school. Strong research and analytical skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment. Unwavering attention to detail and ownership of work. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with document management or legal research platforms is a plus. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Passion for and commitment to OFN’s mission.
