Mission Health, based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a Vascular Access Registered Nurse to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will provide expert, patient-centered vascular access services, including assessment, insertion, maintenance, and troubleshooting of peripheral IVs, midlines, and central vascular access devices. The Vascular Access RN collaborates closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, bedside nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team to ensure timely, safe, and evidence-based vascular access for patients across a variety of acute and specialty care settings. The Vascular Access Registered Nurse will perform comprehensive vascular assessments to determine the most appropriate access device, utilize ultrasound-guided techniques for line placement, and adhere to strict infection prevention and CLABSI reduction protocols. Responsibilities include verifying line tip placement per policy, monitoring for and managing complications, educating patients and families on device care, and providing ongoing staff education regarding vascular access best practices. The nurse will document all procedures and assessments accurately in the electronic medical record, ensuring clear communication and continuity of care. This position requires strong critical-thinking skills, technical proficiency with vascular access equipment and ultrasound, and a commitment to quality outcomes and patient safety. The Vascular Access RN participates in quality improvement initiatives, contributes to the development and implementation of evidence-based protocols, and supports data collection related to vascular access performance indicators.
