The Research Associate will work closely with Dr. Mahowald and other researchers in the computational linguistics group at UT Austin to conduct research using AI to study human cognition and to apply methods from cognitive science and linguistics to improve our understanding of AI models. The position is funded by an NSF grant and has an annual salary of $36,000 (plus benefits). The Research Associate must reside within the City of Austin area. Responsibilities Write code for research projects. Analyze data collected from experiments. Read and write scientific papers and reports. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, linguistics, or a related field. Research experience in computational linguistics or computer science. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications Conference or journal publications in computational linguistics. Working Conditions Repetitive use of keyboard at a workstation. Exposure to standard office conditions. Required Materials Resume/CV.
