Job Description

The Intersect Group is seeking an experienced Sr. SAP Basis Consultant with expertise in SAP Basis, Integration, and Security to support and enhance a large-scale global SAP landscape. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, performance, security, and reliability of enterprise SAP platforms while supporting ongoing modernization, cloud, and transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on technical leader who thrives in complex environments, can effectively manage critical incidents, guide support teams through challenging technical issues, and drive continuous improvement across SAP infrastructure, integrations, and security domains. This role partners closely with internal technology teams, business stakeholders, and external service providers to deliver scalable, secure, and high‑performing SAP solutions. Key Responsibilities Administer, maintain, and support SAP S/4HANA, ECC, NetWeaver ABAP, Java, and HANA database environments across global landscapes. Lead SAP Basis activities including upgrades, support pack implementation, patching, system refreshes, client copies, performance tuning, and landscape maintenance. Design, implement, and support integrations between SAP and non‑SAP platforms utilizing SAP PI/PO, CPI, APIs, IDocs, RFCs, BAPIs, SOAP, REST, and OData technologies. Drive SAP security initiatives including system hardening, Security Note implementation, GRC governance, role design, segregation of duties controls, and SOX compliance. Establish and maintain SAP architecture standards focused on scalability, high availability, disaster recovery, operational reliability, and security. Lead major incident management efforts and provide hands‑on troubleshooting support during Priority 1 and Priority 2 production issues. Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, networking, development, security, and business teams to deliver successful SAP initiatives. Support SAP modernization, automation, cloud migration, S/4HANA transformation, and digital transformation programs. Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through monitoring, automation, and process optimization. Required Qualifications 7+ years of SAP Basis administration experience supporting large‑scale enterprise SAP environments. Strong expertise with SAP S/4HANA, ECC, HANA Database, NetWeaver ABAP, and Java platforms. Hands‑on experience with SAP integration technologies including PI/PO, CPI, IDocs, RFCs, BAPIs, SOAP, REST, APIs, and OData services. Experience implementing SAP security best practices, GRC Access Control, role governance, segregation of duties analysis, and compliance programs. Knowledge of SAP Fiori, SAP Gateway, Web Dispatcher, SAP Router, and SAP Solution Manager. Experience supporting SAP environments hosted on cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, GCP, SAP RISE, or similar solutions. Working knowledge of Linux administration, networking concepts, firewalls, load balancers, virtualization technologies, and middleware platforms. Experience with automation and monitoring tools such as Python, PowerShell, Ansible, Splunk, Dynatrace, or similar technologies. Proven ability to lead critical incident response efforts in high‑pressure production environments. Excellent communication, collaboration, leadership, and problem‑solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). Experience supporting high‑availability and disaster recovery architectures. Experience working with onsite and offshore managed service or system integration partners. Prior involvement in SAP transformation, modernization, cloud migration, or S/4HANA implementation programs. Participate in scheduled maintenance activities, including occasional weekend support (typically once per month). Provide support during critical production incidents as needed.
