Job Description

Registered Nurse (RN) – Correctional Facility (Night Shift)

Location: Moravia, NY
Duration: 26 Weeks (Potential extension up to 104 weeks)
Start Date: May 18, 2026
Schedule: 5x8-Hour Shifts | 40 Hours/Week
Shift Timing: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive healthcare services within a secure correctional facility setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care while adhering to all facility policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct sick calls and assess patient health conditions
  • Administer medications, including insulin and emergency treatments
  • Perform triage and respond to medical emergencies (e.g., asthma attacks, Narcan administration)
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records and documentation
  • Assist with emergency room transfers as needed
  • Manage incidents including injuries, employee accidents, and other medical emergencies
  • Support documentation and reporting for sensitive cases, including abuse/assault
  • Perform routine health screenings and monitor chronic conditions
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and controlled environments
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and facility staff to ensure coordinated care

Qualifications

  • Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) License (Required)
  • Minimum 1–2 years of clinical nursing experience (correctional experience preferred)
  • Strong assessment, triage, and emergency response skills
  • Experience in medication administration and chronic disease management
  • Ability to work effectively in a secure, high-pressure environment
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills
  • Must pass background check prior to start
  • COVID-19 vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
