Title: Direct Support Professional (1st & 2nd Shift) + PRN Opportunities Westerville Area
Compensation: $17 $17.75/hour
About the Role: First Step Healthcare is hiring reliable, compassionate Direct Support Professionals to support adults with developmental disabilities in the Westerville area. We are currently seeking staff for
1st and 2nd shift coverage , as well as
PRN (as-needed) team members . These roles do not include guaranteed weekly hours and are ideal for flexible availability.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support during 1st and 2nd shifts to ensure client safety and comfort
- Follow individualized care plans and routines
- Complete required documentation (training provided)
- Maintain a respectful, clean, and supportive environment
Requirements:
- DODD training (or willing to complete immediately)
- CPR/First Aid certification
- BCI/FBI background check
- Medication Administration required
- Or must be willing to take the 2-day Med Admin class immediately
- Professional, respectful, and dependable at all times

What Youll Be Doing (All Shifts Are Awake Shifts)
First Shift (Day Shift):
- Assist with morning routines, hygiene, and meals
- Support daily activities, appointments, and community outings
- Monitor blood sugar levels and observe for signs of high or low blood sugar
- Support diabetes-related care per the care plan
- Administer medications as assigned (if certified)
- Complete accurate daily documentation
- Maintain a clean, safe, and structured environment
Second Shift (Evening Shift):
- Assist with afternoon and evening routines
- Prepare and support dinner and personal care
- Monitor blood sugar and diabetes-related needs
- Observe and respond to health or behavioral changes
- Administer evening medications as assigned
- Complete shift documentation and assist with household upkeep
Third Shift (Overnight Awake Shift):
- This is an awake, working shift (not a sleep shift)
- Provide continuous overnight supervision
- Monitor safety, health status, and diabetes-related needs
- Respond to overnight care needs or emergencies
- Complete overnight checks and documentation
- Ensure a calm, safe environment until morning staff arrive
Additional Requirements:
- Experience supporting individuals with diabetes preferred
- Medication Administration 1 required for PRN; preferred for other shifts
- Reliable transportation required
- Ability to pass background checks
- Dependable, attentive, and professional
