Marine Electrician >> $40 hr <<

Genesis Staffing is currently seeking skilled and dependable Marine Electricians to join our team for shipyard and marine construction projects. Candidates with previous shipyard experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain marine electrical systems and equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings
• Run conduit, pull cable, terminate wiring, and install electrical components
• Install and connect lighting systems, motors, switchboards, control panels, and other marine electrical equipment
• Test electrical systems using meters and diagnostic tools to ensure proper operation
• Perform maintenance and repairs on vessels, barges, and marine equipment
• Follow all OSHA, company, and shipyard safety procedures
• Work closely with supervisors, welders, fitters, and other trades to complete projects safely and efficiently
• Maintain clean and organized work areas

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Marine Electrician or Industrial Electrician required
• Shipyard experience is a plus
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
• Knowledge of AC/DC systems, troubleshooting, and marine electrical standards
• Experience using electrical testing equipment and hand tools
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• TWIC Card preferred but not required

Preferred Skills

• Experience with new construction and repair work on marine vessels
• Knowledge of low-voltage and high-voltage systems
• Familiarity with shipboard electrical systems and equipment
• Experience working in industrial or maritime environments

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, bend, climb, and work in confined spaces
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and industrial environments
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks
