About the New York City DOC Legal Division Intern Position The New York City Department of Correction (DOC) seeks a graduate intern to join the Office of the General Counsel. Under the supervision of experienced attorneys, interns will have the opportunity to review discovery, draft complex legal documents, conduct investigations, and perform legal analyses. Summer graduate interns will prepare for and actively participate in administrative court proceedings while shadowing attorneys on active cases. This role demands a proactive individual who can assist in legal research and drafting assignments, thereby providing valuable support to the legal team. Interns will gain practical insights into employment discrimination law litigation and the operational policies of large city agencies. Responsibilities Review discovery and draft complex legal documents. Conduct investigations and perform legal analyses. Prepare for and actively participate in administrative court proceedings. Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program at an accredited college, university, or law school.
