• Provide proactive counsel on organizational design, workforce planning, and change management initiatives.

• Serve as the primary HR advisor on mergers, acquisitions, and new market entry from a people and culture standpoint.

• Report on HR metrics and KPIs to senior leadership, including turnover, time-to-fill, engagement scores, and compliance status.

Talent Acquisition & Retention

• Lead end-to-end recruitment strategy for clinical (infusion nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians) and administrative positions.

• Build relationships with nursing schools, pharmacy programs, and professional associations to develop a strong talent pipeline.

• Design and oversee competitive compensation and benefits programs that attract and retain specialized healthcare professionals.

• Champion onboarding programs that accelerate new hire productivity and reinforce organizational culture.

Employee Relations & Engagement

• Investigate and resolve employee relations issues including performance disputes, harassment allegations, and workplace conflicts.

• Develop and execute employee engagement initiatives to drive retention and satisfaction scores across all sites.

• Partner with managers to build coaching and accountability skills that improve team performance and reduce turnover.

Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure organizational compliance with federal, state, and local employment law including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, and OSHA across all operating states — with particular attention to California's expanded employment regulations (CFRA, CPRA, Cal/OSHA, and wage and hour requirements).

• Maintain HR policies and the employee handbook, ensuring alignment with current regulations and best practices.

• Oversee workers' compensation programs, leave administration, and unemployment claims management.

• Coordinate with legal counsel on employment-related matters and litigation risk mitigation.

Performance Management & Development

• Identify training needs and develop learning programs that support clinical skill development, leadership growth, and compliance education.

• Build succession planning processes to ensure bench strength for key roles across the organization.

HR Operations & Systems

• Oversee HRIS administration, ensuring data integrity, reporting accuracy, and system optimization.

• Manage the HR team, providing direction, development, and performance accountability.

• Administer benefits programs, open enrollment, and vendor relationships in coordination with brokers and carriers.

• Develop and manage the HR department budget.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field required.

• Master's degree (MBA, MHA, or MHRM) strongly preferred.

• SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, SPHR, or PHR certification preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a senior HR leadership role.

• Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred; specialty pharmacy, infusion therapy, or home health experience a significant plus.

• Demonstrated experience managing HR functions across multiple states or geographic locations.

• Proven track record of building HR infrastructure in a growth-stage or mid-size healthcare organization.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Deep working knowledge of multi-state employment law and regulatory compliance requirements.

• Strong business acumen with the ability to connect HR strategy to clinical and operational outcomes.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; able to influence at all levels of the organization.

• High degree of discretion, sound judgment, and professional integrity when handling sensitive and confidential matters.

• Proficiency in HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) required.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and manage competing priorities effectively.
