Full Time Chiropractor Opportunity in Maine

The Chiropractor will provide treatment to patients with health problems of the neuromusculoskeletal system, which includes nerves, bones, muscles, ligaments, and tendons using spinal adjustments, manipulation, and other acceptable techniques. The Chiropractor in this role will collaborate with the Primary Care Providers while acting as a contributing member of the Integrated Care Team.

Diagnose and treat musculoskeletal conditions of the spinal column and extremities to prevent disease and correct abnormalities of the body believed to be caused by interference with the nervous system.

Evaluate patients; perform examinations to determine the nature and the extent of the disorder.

Adjust and manipulate the spinal column and other extremities to align, or correct abnormalities caused by neurologic and kinetic articular dysfunction.

Decrease physical interference to the nervous system, as it may cause pain; diminish normal function, or lower disease resistance.

Conduct tests, including evaluating a patient’s posture.

Develop an individualized plan of care for each patient.

Analyze the patient’s posture, spine, and reflexes.

Conduct tests including evaluating a patient’s posture and ordering x-rays.

Provide neuromusculoskeletal therapy.

Provide additional treatments, such as applying heat or cold to a patient’s injured areas.

Advise patients on health and lifestyle issues, such as exercise, nutrition, and sleep habits.

Refer patients to other health care professionals, as needed.

Provide education to patients and family members.

Maintain accurate and complete patient health records to assure confidentiality and compliance with health care regulations.

Abiding by the organization’s compliance and risk programs.

Perform additional duties or projects as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer.

Adheres to all policies and protocols.

Complies with all safety rules and protocols. Reports all incidents, regardless of severity, immediately to their supervisor and completes an incident report and investigation form, which will be forwarded to Human Resources within 24 hours of the incident.

Conducts themselves as a good steward in the communities served; represents the organization at outreach activities as needed.

Actively participates as a committee member as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.

Interacts harmoniously and effectively with others. Focusing on the attainment of organization goals and objectives through a commitment to teamwork.

Conforms to acceptable attendance and punctuality standards as expressed in the employee handbook.

Abiding by the organization’s compliance program and requirements.

Keep discussions about team members, subordinates, and colleagues as well as challenges in the workplace, positive, constructive, and factual.

Be mindful of employee confidentiality even among peers, particularly where an issue involves a peer.

Whenever possible, speak directly to the person with whom you are having a disagreement or a challenge. Do not avoid constructive conflict.

Work with your supervisor or HR when you need to process a performance or behavioral situation with a colleague or subordinate to determine the next steps.

It is always okay, and usually preferable, to pause, and take time to reflect before reacting to a situation.

Graduate of an educational program for Chiropractic that is accredited by the Council on Chiropractic Education and its Commission on Accreditation. Or a combination of education and experience.

Licensed with the State of Maine.

Certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners.

Possess strong communication, analytical, and observation skills.

Demonstrate attention to detail and timeliness with documentation.

Maintains all current credentialing requirements.

Must possess a clean criminal and DHHS background.

Must possess the ability and means to travel between clinics as needed.

Valid State of Maine Driver’s license and ability to be insured by company vehicle insurance carrier.
