Substitute Teachers will monitor, observe, and report student behavior according to school policies and procedures remotely and/or in person. Qualifications Candidate must be at least 18 years of age; Education equivalent to graduation from an accredited high school or General Education Certificate (GED) Terms Of Employment Assuming you are available for substitute teacher assignments, our need for Substitutes will vary from day-to-day and week-to-week and, as such, we cannot guarantee work each day. Employment in this regard, is therefore not applicable under the provisions of chapter 71, Section 41 of the Massachusetts General Laws pertaining to tenure of teachers and school nurses. In any event, I can provide you with reasonable assurance of employment as an Intermittent Substitute Teacher during the forthcoming year. September – June (Available assignments are based on a scheduled school year) Location: District Wide $150 per day worked Union Status: Non-Union Responsibilities And Tasks Maintain and respect confidentiality of student and school personnel information; Maintain discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe and positive environment for all students and staff in accordance with school policies; Ensure the adequate supervision to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students; Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities; Report to Principal of the school upon arrival and departure at school if in person; Check in Frontline under substitute notes for link to lessons for the day if remote and/or in person; Review lesson plans, materials, and/or instructions left by absent teacher; Report student injuries, accidents, illnesses, or discipline problems to the school principal immediately or as soon as is reasonably possible; Implement lesson plans, while ensuring the integrity of academic time and in a manner in which motivates students to learn and participate; Organize students for effective instruction; Dismiss all students from the classroom before leaving the building if in person; Ensure that all students leave the zoom/google site before leaving the online classroom Comply with and support school and division regulations and policies; Model non-discriminatory practices in all activities; Perform other related duties as assigned by building administrator(s) in accordance with school policies and practices.
