Hours per week: 40 hours, Full-time

Job Summary:
This position coordinates multiple substitute teachers as needed on any given school day, ensuring that all classrooms will be staffed so as not to interrupt the instructional day as well as teaching students in a classroom environment during the absence of the regularly assigned teacher.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Substitute Coordinator:
Be the primary point of contact for all substitutes, all staff, and administrators regarding the daily substitute schedule (1 Corinthians 14:40)
Be available via text 5:30am - 11:00pm for last-minute callouts from teachers who are unable to work which then requires a short notice substitute teacher (Colossians 4:6)
Maintain a current list of substitute teachers and contact information to be used in the event of a teacher absence
Maintain an updated shared Google Sheet with all pre-planned and last-minute staff time off requests together with whom a teachers substitute was
Schedule substitutes for teachers who have called out, communicating via text, phone call, and/or email the day before as to who the substitute teacher will be (Acts 20:28)
Maintain communication with the substitute regarding substitute details, location, time in and time out, and to whom the substitute should report
Send out follow-up communication to the substitute to thank them and remind them how important they are to CCA (Galatians 5:22-23)
Address any issues/concerns the substitute may have, i.e. providing lesson plans, copies, and assisting with technical issues
Provide a New Sub Orientation meeting prior to the substitute beginning to sub at CCA
Provide a welcome back meeting during Orientation Week in August, including overseeing substitutes viewing the OSHA video and reviewing new changes in policies and procedures which may affect them
Other duties as assigned by supervisor (Colossians 3:23)
Substitute Teacher:
Teach and supervise students, following the curriculum and lesson plans provided by the regular assigned teacher
Leave documentation for the absent teacher regarding any behavior issues, percentage of completed assigned lesson with details of what was incomplete (1 Peter 4:10)
Maintain a neat and orderly classroom (For God is not a God of disorder but of peaceas in all the congregations of the Lords people. 1 Corinthians 14:33)
Prepare and display an organized environment and maintain godly character(Philippians 2:3)
Provide back-up assistance for office staff and CCA Administration if requested
Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor
Job Skills and Competencies:
Hold the minimum of a bachelors degree from an accredited postsecondary institution in related field
Be computer literate, including having familiarity with CCAs various technology platforms.
Keep all personal and medical information confidential regarding students, parents and staff.
Be familiar with and follow emergency protocols as stated in the CCA Emergency Preparedness Plan
Follow the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with conflict
Possess good verbal and written communication skills (The hearts of the wise make their mouths prudent, and their lips promote instruction. Proverbs 16:23)
Communicate in a clear, professional manner with godly wisdom
Possess evidence of other adequate preparation, background or experience as determined by school administration
Other Qualifications:
Must attend a Bible believing church with similar beliefs as Calvary Chapel Melbourne
Keep the ministry in the forefront of all you do, with a servant heart and optimistic attitude (Philippians 2:3)
Conduct yourself in a manner that reinforces the core values and mission of Calvary Chapel and agree to our Statement of Faith
Function as a productive part of the church staff and attend staff meetings in coordination with direct supervisor (1 Peter 4:10)
Demonstrate a mature, ongoing personal relationship with Jesus through spiritual and moral integrity
Strong commitment to the vision and mission of Calvary Chapel Melbourne
